Alpaca Products

There are 22 shades of natural alpaca fibers which ban be used for various clothing items, toys, and other household items.  In addition to color variations, the fiber from the various types of alpacas varies in texture.  For example, Cria fiber is super fine, while Suri fiber is very silky and has a greater sheen.  Alpaca fiber is often measured in microns according to height and width of the fiber.  If you would like to read more about the fiber click here.

Alpaca sweaters, hats, gloves, and scarves are as warm as wool, but not as itchy.  These and other clothing items, such as coats and wraps, are durable and quite stain-resistant.  Alpaca fiber is often blended with cashmere, silk, or other fibers, for lightweight materials, but is also used for heavier materials, such as felt.
